On the night of first January a ship on its way to Bremerhaven lost 270 containers. Some containers spilled their content all over the area, other probably sunk and many are still adrift.

The third Dutch commemorative coin of 2018 honours an unique and mysterious place of the Netherlands: 'Schokland'. The former island symbolizes the constant battle with water by the Dutch citizens and is the first World Heritage site in the Netherlands since 1995.
