Homepage World Heritage Worldwide
World Heritage consists of cultural and natural, structural and archaeological sites of outstanding universal significance, which should be preserved for future generations. As of 2005, there were 812 sites around the world inscribed on the World Heritage List. See the World Heritage map for their locations. There are six sites in the Netherlands: Schokland, the Stelling van Amsterdam (Defence Line of Amsterdam), the Mill Network at Kinderdijk, the Ir. D.F. Woudagemaal (D.F. Wouda pumping station), the Beemster polder and the Rietveld Schröder House.
