Important tasks of the Secretariat are to organise meetings, handle the administration, record and check documents with respect to nominations for the World Heritage List, organise periodic reporting on World Heritage sites and set up promotional activities. The Secretariat also maintains contact with advisory bodies, such as ICOMOS and IUCN, and provides information.
