One of the objectives of the Netherlands World Heritage Platform is to create awareness that the Netherlands boasts a number of cultural-historical objects of outstanding universal significance which UNESCO has placed on the World Heritage List. The Platform aims to achieve this by obtaining greater support for the preservation of the sites by providing information and education and by encouraging visits to this heritage. The Platform also strives to achieve awareness by acting as a discussion partner with the national government with respect to policy to be pursued as regards the World Heritage. The Platform has received State financing to set up (joint) projects.
