NFIT (The Netherlands Fund-in-Trust)
At present the NFIT is an annual donation of € 450,000. The NFIT was implemented in 2001 in association with UNESCO and has now been guaranteed up to and including 2008. Its purpose is to stimulate the implementation of the World Heritage Convention. This stimulus must be aimed mainly at one or more of the following:
Implementation of the ‘Global Strategy’
Education and World Heritage in the hands of young people
Cooperation in technical areas
Periodic reporting on World Heritage Sites.
