An annual public event called the Stelling Maand (Defence Line Month) is held every year in September. Activities are organised during the weekends together with the owners, managers and users of the participating forts. These activities include such things as tours, boat excursions, exhibitions, theatre shows, walking tours and bicycle excursions from fort to fort.

Some forts also organise various activities throughout the year, like wine tastings, art exhibits, special theme exhibitions and tours. Some forts have a restaurant and/or gallery.
