Setting

The Mill Network at Kinderdijk-Elshout World Heritage site lies in the north-western part of the Alblasserwaard. It is bounded to the north by the Lek River and to the west by the De Noord River. The site is exactly the same as the area that bears the same name and that has been designated a protected townscape. The site is also protected by virtue of the Nature Protection Law.
